Naruto
An underachiever at the Ninja Academy. Naruto roams the Village Hidden in the Leaves causing mischief and countless pranks. He also enjoys a good bowl of ramen. His life-long dream is to be Hokage, the village chief, and become the greatest ninja of all time. Naruto also holds a secret that he himself does know, the fact the Nine-Tailed Fox that wreaked havoc on the village, is sealed inside his body! His special techniques are the “Clone Jutsu” and “Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu”.

Sasuke
A descendent of the Uchiha Clan, Sasuke has both unique talent and sensibilities. Combined with his rugged good looks, this makes him the most popular student among the Academy’s female student body. Quiet by nature, he never hesitates to speak his mind, which annoys Naruto, as he receives the brunt of Sasuke’s insults. His special techniques are “Barrage of Lions” and “Fire Styles” jutsu.

Sakura
Standing above all other with her incredible knowledge and skills, Sakura aims to become a Kunoichi, a female ninja. But as a young girl coming of age, she tends to focus less on ninjutsu and more on boys, especially the handsome Sasuke, who has no interest in her whatsoever. What Sakura fears to say comes out of her “Inner Sakura,” the embodiment of her true feelings.

Iruka
A Chunin (journeyman ninja) teacher at the Ninja Academy. He not only has the respect of the village elders, but his pupils as well. Iruka is the only person who understands Naruto, who is disliked and ostracized by everyone in the village. Iruka understands and cares for him because he too is an orphan losing his parents to the Nine-tailed Fox sealed inside Naruto.

Kakashi
A jonin (elite ninja) from the Village Hidden in the Leaves, he is known in other territories as “Kakashi of the Sharingan”. He is quite enigmatic and seldom expresses his emotions. His combined abilities of ninjutsu, taijutsu (physical art) and genjutsu (illusion art) are unmatched. Never without his favorite novel “Make-Out Paradise” he has the ability to surprise even the most skilled ninja. His special technique is “Lightning Blade.”

Hokage
As the leader of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, he is well loved and respected by its inhabitants. It is said that his capabilities are greater than all previous Hokages as he has mastered all of the jutsu that exist in the village. His current enjoyment is watching his grandson Konohamaru grow up, while his mischievous side alarms the Hokage as well

Shikamaru
A genin in the same class as Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, he is teamed up with Ino and Choji. Though lazy and lacking motivation, he scored a 200 on his IQ test. Coupled with his habit of complaining, his special technique is The Shadow Possession Jutsu.

Ino
A genin in the same class as Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, she is teamed with Shikamaru and Choji.. A rival to Sakura, she competes with her over anything and anyone, especially Sasuke. Her special technique is the Mind Transfer Jutsu, in which she releases her soul and takes over her opponent’s soul.

Choji
Part of Squad 10 with Ino and Shikamaru. Constantly eating, he gets mad whenever people call him “fat.” He loves to eat everything, especially barbeque. His special techniques are the Expansion Jutsu and “The Human Boulder”, secret ninjutsu of the Akimichi Clan.

Kiba
A genin from the Village Hidden in the Leaves. he is teamed with Hinata and Shino. Both wild in personality and appearance, he moves around with his ninja dog Akamaru. Their relationship and trust runs deep. His special jutsu are the “Man Beast Clones a joint jutsu carried out with Akamaru, and a secret beast man taijutsu technique that is called The “Fang Over Fang.”

Akamaru
Kiba’s ninja dog. Akamaru is one with Kiba and both trust one another. Akamaru can smell an opponents’ Chakra and determine the extent of that person’s strength.

Shino
A genin from the Village Hidden in the Leaves, he is teamed with Kiba and Hinata. As a descendent of the Aburame Clan. he was given special insects to symbiotically live with from the moment of his birth. These insects are his weapons. Calm and collected, he has a somewhat eerie atmosphere about him and as a boy of few words, he has the disposition of a leader.

Hinata
A genin in the same class as Naruto and his Squad. She is teamed with Kiba and Shino. An heir to the Hyuga Clan, a distinguished family in the Leaf Village, she has feelings for and supports Naruto. Unfortunately, because of her shyness, she cannot outwardly express her true feelings and is always fidgeting from a distance.

Rock Lee
A genin from the Village Hidden in the Leaves. He is in the same Squad as Neji and TenTen, who are both one year ahead of Naruto and his Squad. Though his ninjutsu and genjutsu skills are pathetic, his taijutsu is outstanding as a result of his constant training. From his hairstyle to the admiration he has for his Sensei, everything about Lee is intense. Like Naruto, he too is in love with Sakura

Neji
A genin from the Village Hidden in the Leaves, he is in the same Squad as Rock Lee and TenTen. He is Hinata’s cousin and a genius, but feels constrained to the branch family of the Hyuga Clan. Uses the “Byakugan,” a bloodline trait handed down genetically within the Hyuga Clan.

Gai
The jonin responsible for Lee, Neji and TenTen as well as Kakashi’s rival, he has the most fiery temperament in the Valley of the Leaves.

Tenten
A genin from the Village Hidden in the Leaves, she is in the same Squad as Rock Lee and Neji. With her ability to efficiently use many ninja tools, she constantly worries about Rock Lee, she always forges straight ahead regardless of her tendency to fail.

Kabuto
A genin from the Village Hidden in the Leaves. He is taking the chunin exam for the seventh time. Excelling in information gathering, he has collected data on other genin in past exams. He gives Naruto and his squad a variety of information about the chunin exam. However, his true motives are not yet known.

Jiraiya
An influential person who was one of the “Three Shinobi of Legend” at one time. He has had the Third Hokage as a teacher and the Fourth Hokage as a pupil. He has a stern appearance and is larger than life but whenever he sees a beautiful woman, his expression relaxes and he becomes, simply, a dirty old man. He is also the author behind Kakashi’s favorite book “Make out Paradise!!”

Zabuza
A rogue ninja of the Village Hidden in the Mist. Known widely as “The Demon Ninja of the Mist.” Formally of the Hidden Mist Black Ops and an expert at “Silent Killing”. At all times He carries a giant blade and a sinister ambition that lies behind his ruthless expression.

Haku
A former elite tracking ninja, he was adopted by Zabuza and taught combat jutsu. Faithful to Zabuza, he will not forgive anyone who endangers him. Behind his mask is a face as beautiful as a young girl and a painfully sad past. He uses the Crystal Ice Mirrors a bloodline trait jutsu.

Gaara
A genin from the Village Hidden in the Sand, he carries on his back a large gourd, and hides a terrifying hidden power. He has an air about him that keeps everyone at arm’s length. He acknowledges Sasuke’s superior strength, and desires a battle with him.

Temari
A genin from the Village Hidden in the Sand, she comes to the Village Hidden in the Leaves with her two younger brothers, Gaara and Kankuro to take the chunin exam. Uses a huge fan as a weapon.

Kankuro
A genin from the Village Hidden in the Sand. he hates “little guys.” particularly punks who think they know everything. His ninja tool of choice is called a “scarecrow,” a weaponized marionette.

Orochimaru
One of the “Three Shinobi of Legend,” He left the Village Hidden in the Leaves and founded the Village Hidden in the Sound. He snuck into the chunin exam and has his sights on Sasuke. Ruthless and heartless, he will stop at nothing to fulfill his sinister ambition.

Zaku
A genin from the Village Hidden in the Sound. An underling of Orochimaru, he participates in the chunin exam, but his aim is Sasuke’s life. He uses a jutsu based on ultrasonic waves and air pressure. Extremely aggressive , he often loses his temper.

Dosu
A genin (junior ninja) in the Village Hidden in the Sound and an underling of Orochimaru. His face is hidden under bandages. On one hand he is aggressive, but on the other, can skillfully and objective judge other’s abilities. . His specialty is to amplify sound, and use it to attack his opponents.
