What does YTV stand for?
Actually, it's just three letters! Really! Some folks think it means Youth Television, but that's just a coincidence; we just thought the letters looked good together!
Is the Zone/Crunch/ZAPX live?
It's both "live" and what we call "live to tape." Live is real-time action; you can see the boo-boos as they happen! Live to tape means that it was shot live (with the boo-boos), but recorded on tape and then played back on another day. We use the live-to-tape option when we have special guests that can't make it to the studio during our time block. The trick is to figure out which one's which!

Do you announce birthdays on the air?
Unfortunately, no. The amount of birthday wishes we would get would be so huge we wouldn't have the time to announce each one; many kids would be left out.
Can I come watch you tape a show?
At this time, we don't let people see tapings of our shows.
How can I buy a copy of my favourite program?
We are generally only licensed to broadcast programs (show them on the air) and not to distribute or sell them. Sorry!
How can I be a host on/get a job at YTV?
First you need to have a demo tape and visit talent firms in your area. Then, when YTV or any other firm is looking for young talent, the talent firm can let you know we're looking.
Anyone interested in a job at YTV should visit the Corus Entertainment website.
I don't live in Canada. Can I still see YTV?
Sorry, no. YTV is a Canadian specialty network and is currently not available outside of Canada. But hey, who says that won't change someday?
I live in Canada, but I don't get YTV. Why?
We are on cable and Canadian satellite systems. For information on getting YTV on your home satellite, please call Star Choice at: 1-888-554-7827 and ExpressVu at: 416-383-6600.

Why does your schedule change so much?
Like most television stations we move or cancel shows to make room for new shows. We try our best to let our fans know when a show is moving, especially through YTV.com.
Does YTV offer any scholarships?
Unfortunately, YTV does not have a scholarship program in place.
Can I get a tour of YTV?
Sorry, but we are unable to offer tours at this time.
How can I get a subscription to Whoa! Magazine?
Eight issues (two years' worth) of Whoa! cost $14.95 CDN. The issues are published in March, June, September, and November.

If you're not seeing the entire Site properly, you probably need to download Flash 8.

If you have a pop-up blocker, you won't be able to play many of our games. Get your parent's help to disable the pop-up blocker when surfing YTV.com.
Where are all of your show Sites? Some of my favourite ones are missing!
All the show Sites currently on YTV.com can be found on our Shows page. If you see one of your fave shows missing from the list, email us at yap@ytv.com and we'll do our best to put that show online.
Why do some of the show Sites have Galleries, Games, Episodes, Character descriptions, and Message Boards, while others have a lot less information?
We do our best to include as much information as possible for every show, but so many shows on the network that's not always possible. We do update the show Sites periodically, if and when additional show content becomes available, so check back with us later.
If something specific's on your mind, check out the Message Boards for comments, or to add your own.
How do I send a drawing for the Fan Art section of my favourite show?
You can send your original artwork in an email with an attached file (we only accept .jpg, .gif or .bmp formatted files). Send them to yap@ytv.com.

If you are sending Fan Art for your favourite YTV show make sure to include what program your drawing is from.
Remember your drawings have to be your own original work; nothing downloaded from a website or scanned from a book.
How do I send questions/comments to the Anime Master?
You can check out the Anime Master Site for the answers to your questions, but if you don't find the info you're looking for you can email the Master at animemaster@ytv.com.
Does YTV.com have Chat rooms?
At this time, YTV.com only holds Guest Chats with celebrities and YTV personalities.

How do I subscribe to the YTV.com Newsletter?
We send out our email Newsletters monthly; usually near the end of the month.
If you have a YAP! Membership, you can change click the Newsletter box under My Settings.
If you're not a Member and aren't interested in joining, you can subscribe by entering your email address on the Newsletter page.
How do I unsubscribe from the YTV.com Newsletter?
Just enter your email address in the Unsubscribe field at the bottom of the Newsletter page.
I'm having problems entering a Contest. What do I do?
First of all, double check that you've filled in all the fields for the entry. Do not leave any blank spaces (or any spaces at all actually) in the Phone Number or Postal Code boxes. Also make sure you're not entering any strange characters into the fields, like, special symbols or quotes.
If you have tried all of these suggestions and still cannot enter, please email us at yap@ytv.com and answer the following questions :
- What type of browser are you using? Firefox? Internet Explorer? Or another type?
- What type of computer do you have? A PC with Windows XP? A Macintosh?
- What Contest are you trying to enter?

What's Membership all about?
Membership is a free service offered to 6 to 18-year-olds. With a Membership, you can participate in live Guest Chats, moderated Message Boards, receive our monthly email Newsletter, submit Your Say to the Anime Master, write game Reviews for your fave games, and even get a Sitekick - your personal robot friend on YTV.com!
How do I become a Member?
To become a member, click on 'Not a YTV.com Member?' on the homepage. You'll be required to fill out some info, as well as check off a box that says your parent gives you permission to join (so be sure to ask if it's okay first).
After you submit your application our staff will make sure your username is appropriate for YTV.com. If it is, your Membership will be enabled and you will be sent an email. You'll have to confirm your email address at that time. Once you've confirmed your email, your Membership will be active.
What if I share an email address with my parent/guardian?
For security purposes, we can't allow the same email address to be used for the parent and child. However, if a parent or guardian has a second email address, it can be used in place of a child's email. If there is no second email address available, we suggest contacting your Internet Service Provider. Most ISPs allow you to have more than one address at no extra charge. Failing that, we suggest the parent sign up for a free web-based email address.
If more than one child is being signed up for a YAP! Membership, the parent's email address can be used for each of those accounts.
Where's the "email link"?
When your Membership is accepted, an email will be sent to the email address provided. In order to activate your Membership, you have to click on a link in this email. If you don't click the link, your Membership will be deleted within 72 hours.
How long will it take for my Membership to be activated?
When you sign-up for a Membership, your username gets put into a list of Members waiting to be approved. Each is screened to make sure the username is appropriate for YTV.com; this can take up to 24 hours.
How do I pick a username?
Because we have hundreds of thousands of users, choosing a name can be tricky. We suggest picking your favourite name and adding extra numbers or letters to it to make it uniquely yours (just remember that your username cannot be your real name and cannot contain any personal or inappropriate information, like, phone numbers or city names).
I forgot my username/password. How can I get that info?
How do I change my username?
The only way to change your username is by signing up for a new account and deleting your old one.
If you're still interested in changing your username, please send us an email with your current username. We will disable your account and you will then be able to sign up for your new account.
How do I change my password?
When you're logged in, click on 'My Settings' at the top of the page beside your username; you will be able to make the changes there.
Why do I need to give some personal info to sign up, and how's it being used?
Any personal identifiable info collected from our Members is for YTV.com purposes only (e.g. Membership verification, contest fulfillment, etc.). We will never sell or give any of this information to third parties. Sometimes we may share aggregated info collected from our Polls, however specific Members are never identified.
Is Membership free?
Yes, Membership is completely free.
Why can't I log in?
If you haven't forgotten your password, there might be another issue. Email us at membership@ytv.com with some more information, such as what browser you're using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.), or any error messages you see when you try to sign in.
I changed my email address. How do I update my Membership?
If you want to change your email address, all you have to do is log in to your account. Once logged in, you'll see 'My Settings' beside your username on the YTV.com top navigation bar. Click on 'My Setting' and you'll find the area where you can change your email address; you can even use that section to change your password.
My parents have a new email address. How can they change it in my Membership?
Your parents have to change the email for your account one of two ways. He or she can send an email with the new account information from the email address currently listed in the Membership info. Or your parent can call us toll-free at 1-866-492-2237 to talk to a Moderator and make the changes.
How can I cancel my Membership?
In order to cancel your Membership, you must email membership@ytv.com from the email address listed in your account. If that is no longer possible, you will have to call us at 1-866-492-2237.
What happens when I'm too old to be a Member?
On your 19th birthday your account gets disabled. Sorry, but YTV wants to offer kids their own environment.
I submitted a Poll, but it's not on the Site. Why?
We get thousands of Polls every week; it can be really tough to get to every one. Please be patient and keep on submitting. The most unique and fun Polls get posted.
I posted a message on the Boards, but it's still not there. How come?
When you post a Board Message on YTV.com, it gets put into a list of Board Postings waiting to be approved. Each Post is screened by our Moderators to make sure the content is appropriate for YTV.com. This can take up to 24 hours. Sorry for the inconvenience.
